Woodstock

The Woodstock Festival was a rock and hippy festival held on the 15th, 16th, 17th and until the early hours of August 18, 1969. It took place on a 240-acre farm in Bethel, Sullivan County, New York State. ; although originally it was programmed so that it took place in the town of Woodstock, in the county of Ulster, where the settlers, nevertheless, were against the event. Writer Elliot Tiber helped negotiate the organizers with farmer Max Yasgur, to host the concert on the grounds of that family, 64 km southwest of Woodstock.

Thirty-two events took place during the festival that brought together some 500,000 people

Woodstock became the icon of a generation weary of wars and who preached peace and love as a way of life and showed their rejection of the system, therefore, many of the people who attended that festival were hippie (really they are not designated that way, but that's what people called them). This festival was a movement that developed in the United States at the end of the 1960s.

During the festival there were intense nights of sex and drugs, highlighting the consumption of LSD and marijuana; all this seasoned with rock music. There were three deaths at the Woodstock festival: one due to an overdose of heroin, another after a ruptured appendix and one last due to an accident with a tractor. There were also two unconfirmed births at the festival.
